General engineering guidance only. Final equipment selection, safety controls and operating procedures must be approved for the actual project.
1. Define the liquid and contaminants
Record composition, concentration, viscosity at operating temperature, particle shape, size distribution and solids loading. A micron value alone does not describe dirt-holding demand or media behavior.
2. Size the hydraulic duty
Use normal and peak flow, inlet pressure, clean differential pressure and the acceptable terminal differential pressure. Confirm whether the process may stop for bag replacement.
3. Choose the service concept
Bag count, size, side- or top-entry layout, closure and maintenance clearance must fit the installation and the expected change-out interval.
4. Verify the complete wetted system
Confirm housing metallurgy, basket, bag material, ring, seam, gasket, connections and cleaning chemistry as one compatible system.
