General engineering guidance only. Final equipment selection, safety controls and operating procedures must be approved for the actual project.
1. Define retention performance
State the particle distribution, nominal or absolute expectation, required efficiency and whether the duty is pre-filtration, protection or final polishing.
2. Quantify loading and pressure drop
Cartridge area does not remove the need to estimate solids loading, clean pressure drop and an acceptable change-out point. High dirt load may justify a bag or automatic pre-filter.
3. Lock cartridge geometry
Confirm outside diameter, length, end connection, adapter, gasket and support arrangement. Similar-looking cartridges are not automatically interchangeable.
4. Review housing operation
Cartridge count, opening clearance, venting, draining, closure and cleanability must match the plant and maintenance procedure.
